Albums
"The Seeger Sessions" provides a bit of a cross-section view of the songs sung by Pete Seeger. There are songs from gospel and Celtic as well as adaptations of hymns to the civil rights movement. Most of the songs have been performed as children's songs, and many as either bluegrass songs or as a capella showcases (and, in a couple of cases, both). About the only thing tying them all together is their connection to Pete Seeger.
Thousands of albums have included at least one song currently included in "The Seeger Sessions," ranging from The Anthology of American Folk Music to Dan Zanes' kids' albums, in many, many genres. However, it might not be so easy to put together collections of prior recordings of these songs; no prior album includes more than 5 of them, not even in Pete Seeger's catalogue.
